Re: Migrating from 2.X to Olympus

Aw.

I want to try a test conversion. Nothing on my site is at risk so no support or bug
reporting will be posted here.

Re: Migrating from 2.X to Olympus

I decided to try and run Olympus (CVS) on my forum, and after some startup issues (cookie related) it works fine. No bugs, no problems. I'm looking forward to converting my databases as i'm in the process of cleaning up my entire system, including MySQL. Be sure to let us know when the converter's d...

Re: Powered by... Suggestion

That does sound good.

Forget the name "phpBB 3", we should call it phpBB Olympus. (Or is that what you
have planned anyway?)

Re: A Curiosity Question...

Oh, I scanned the _config table and found the entry.

A feature in phpMyAdmin was preventing me from seeing it.

A Curiosity Question...

Where does Olympus write its Cookie data to?

Like, when you run the initial installer, and it prompts you for the cookie domain, etc,
where does it write this info to?

If it's a MySQL entry, what table is it in?

Just curious is all, but I would appreciate responses. Thanks.

Re: The top 5 ways...

Yeah, it probably will. Olympus is a great and popular system, it reminds me of when
Apple released Mac OS X 10.0.

It's a -big- event.

Re: The top 5 ways...

Mostly the same as you. My top 5 ways...

5. The phpBB Olympus bear is released.
4. The bug tracker is opened.
3. Millions worldwide are locked inside writing themes.
2. The president of IPS is in a bad mood.
1. SourceForge runs out of bandwidth with traffic issues.

Re: phpBB 2 Development

True, they probably will support it still. However the majority of servers will move over to Olympus fairly quickly so I can see phpBB 3 support being the primary target. Btw, after the release, will phpBB 3 still be called "phpBB Olympus" or something? Because it sounds really cool and it has a muc...

Re: phpBB 2 Development

Just tested a CVS build on my server. It's Very Stable in my opinion.

Had an issue with the ACP when attempting to create a forum, but AFAIK this bug has
been discovered and is being fixed.

Great work, cant wait for the finished release now! :D
