Re: Most Stable Release

There is currently no stable version of 2.1, by definition, really. 2.1 is the current development branch of phpBB. When it becomes stable, it will be released as phpBB 2.2. Currently, it's in an active state of development, and many things may be broken at any time. Development snapshots are avail...

Then, I'd have to say you've done something odd. Each letter in that text is literally 2 pixels tall. I don't think there's much to distinguish. *_*

Re: Where do i download 2.2?

Not to mention how you could possibly define working. Able to install? Well, I can install any snapshot regardless of schema bugs, so that's a useless definition. All the features are working? Oops, no, not all the features are working yet, so that's clearly not going to be a useful metric either. ...

Re: Just a quick problem!!!

Registration works in at least one of yesterday's snapshots, and I'd probably wager all of them. In fact, all I could possibly think of is having visual confirmation enabled and not realizing that it's case sensitive. However, due to the inherent instability, there is very little benefit to install...

Re: EM Compliant MODs

There were some standards back in the 0.0.7 days, and I wrote my Custom Title MOD to conform to that. Heck, it was even deemed "officially" 0.0.7 compatible, or maybe it was 0.0.6. In any case, it doesn't matter, and those days are gone. The MOD still installs beautifully with EasyMOD, but I'll be ...

Re: I got all excited

Well im glad to see we have got past that mile stone...keep it up peeps. With the announcement, will a download package be made available, or will we all be running to CVS? Yes plz make a download package...... Making a special download package would be pointless for two reasons. 1. Snapshots are a...

Re: able to turn board off/on

Well, you could turn the board off in 2.0.x, as well. However, 2.2 will allow you to enter an optional message detailing why you disabled the board, instead of the generic one in 2.0.

Re: Invision Boards Features Vs phpBB 2.2

Take a look at the Invision ACP, you'' see what I mean... Yeah, I know its AOL, I would think you'd have a way around that by now... As for using IE or another platform, The last copy of AOL I installed disabled my IE... AOL Sucks... Last I looked (IB 1.2 RC1, I believe) the Invision Board ACP was ...

Re: Invision Boards Features Vs phpBB 2.2

And to me, the new admin cp for phpBB is a mess, whoever organizes things really doesn't have good skills in that area... Also, phpBB never works right with AOL, users on AOL get "database not found" and "invalid session" errors 24/7... What's badly organized about it? If you refer to the order of ...

Re: Invision Boards Features Vs phpBB 2.2

One man's bloatware is another's barebones package. vB 3.0 is bare bones? I think of some of the fully modded packages out there.. or what would happen if you added every mod released for phpBB 2.0.x to a board. I don't think any standard forum package will ever be as bloated as that. With t...
