Forum Roles and Permissions

I'm looking at forum permissions now. Got a couple of questions concerning four of them:
  • Can use post icons. What are these?
  • Can post Flash. Is this heavy on bandwidth?
  • Can post without approval. Huh? Never needed approval in phpBB2 :?
  • Increment post counter. What is this?

Permission limits for Bots

Ive set several roles for Group Permissions - Standard, Limited and Guests but I see there is a default permission called 'Bots.'

Can someone suggest what sort of permissions should be applied to 'bots?'

Annoying Bug

Permissions order all over the place Is this a bug? Or just me being pickie? I copied the permission options to MSWord so I could have a copy of what I was doing. but when it came to experimenting in the ACP nothing was the same. Edit 'User Role' and the permissions are written in a particul...

Re: Monopolizing Conversations

You might also want to check out the Moderation queue feature, you can set it so that topics/posts will not show untill a moderator approves of the topic/post. This will achive the "trivial post removal" as you would like but it's not automated, so it will take a medium to high ammount of work. Can...

Re: Monopolizing Conversations

No, Im refering to the sort of member who dominates discusions with 10 times more replies (often trivial) than anyone else. I saw a mod once that limited the number of posts (for an individual member) per day. Better still would be the ability for a moderator to set on a per topic basis 'x' number o...
