Re: cvs changes

what you want is to use the -P (capital P. dont mix with capital punishment) as a flag to the "cvs up" command, thus: cvs -z5 up -AdP where the "d" means create new directories if needed, the "A" means remove any sticky tag, and the "P" means remove empty directories. for ages now, there is no "temp...

Broken things: install, caching (if it needs to chche something, it caches it, but does not include).

caching was fixed less than a day after that post.

Re: IdealBB and forums that use banner rotations scripts

just to clarify: i use phpbb, not smf, and i absolutely do not wish to get into a "mine is bigger than yours" type of discussion. that said, i think the "competetion" as i see it is not olympus vs. smf, but, if you will, phpbb vs. smf. there are numerous production boards (thousands? milions?) using...

Re: IdealBB and forums that use banner rotations scripts

as the saying goes, there are two kinds of people: those who split all people to two kinds, and those who don't. there are many ways to classify all the available bbs packages: by technology (say, php/asp/perl), by distribution (say, more than 10,000,000 active boards, more than 1,000,000, etc.), by...

Re: What features are broken (do not work) now?

Pretty much everything seems to be broken from my perspective. Some things work, but their definetly broken. Which of course is ok by me as it means things are happening. ahhhm, ahhhm... imho, this is completely faulty logic. things can be severely broken without anything happenning, and, otoh, a l...

Re: bbcode improvements

this behavior only happens with mozilla-like (aka "geko") browsers. you can fix it by opening the file styles/subSilver/template/editor.js find the function mozWrap(), and add at the first line: var scrollTop = txtarea.scrollTop; and just before the return; , add txtarea.scrollTop = scrollTop; i do ...

Re: phpbb3 user information over multiple Database/Domains

I think you have that backwards, I want the DB split, but to share the same user names, I haven’t poked around v3 too much, but if its like v2 for the most part, there would need to be an additional kick script that pushes the data between the two domains hence databases. i dont think i have it bac...

Re: phpbb3 user information over multiple Database/Domains

Sorry about posting here, I could not find this information anywhere in the FAQ, feature list, and the search function appears not to have the data either. Can/will phpbb3 user DB be able to be spread over multiple domains but keep the user information synchronized? Currently I am running a phpbb f...

Re: No more IP encoding?

They were not encoded but stored hexadecimally. It wouldn't make sense to encode them. :) this is more a teminology issue. hater did not say they were encrypted, but rather encoded. seeing that the function that does the packing in phpbb 2.0 is called "encode_ip()", i think his terminology is ok. a...
