Re: Bug is less,

Yep. Some of those aren't bugs though. I've been reading them. I actually found a duplicate of a bug that I reported a while back which was closed as "will not fix". So we can at least -1 from the total. ;)

Re: How much would you pay?

I can't answer this question. I've only used phpBB. If I suddenly had to pay for it, I would be investigating other pay solutions as well. Since I don't know what they cost, I'm not about to pull numbers out of a hat.

You'll find that most people here are in the same boat.

Lets just wait

This is how we pass the time. ;)

Re: Bug is less,

I've done testing for several large companies, and a number of smaller projects. Not one project has ever gone into release/production with a bug count of zero. Esoteric bugs and those that are unlikely to be replicated in a large scale which are also (in both cases) not capable of serious damage t...

Re: Bug is less,

A release candidate is a candidate for a gold release. It's not a test version to find last minute bugs, rather it's a test to see if it's finished. Therefore, all efforts to close bugs need to be completed before the RC is made available to the public. RC1 could very well be the Gold release if all...

Re: Locking Topics

I can think of one use. If you have a classified section on your forum, when the user sells the item he/she can lock their own topic to prevent additional inquiries. I might actually implement that when I switch to phpBB3. Thanks for pointing it out. 8)

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!

On that note, wouldn't the phpbb team be shooting themselves in the foot since they went live with a beta version? You would think that they would need an upgrade path too. ;)

Re: Empty .htaccess in /files : right or not?

I just checked my files directory in B5 and sure enough I was able to browse it. Good catch.
