hi,

Could you please indicate if existing 3.2.0 styles need to be updated for 3.2.1 ?
There is a topic on phpbb.com with the style changes

Re: BBcodes

If quote is too difficult to remove from the code, and I can appreciate that it could be, then leave that hard coded as I suspect that virtually all boards use that feature anyway.

BBcodes

Should the current set of hard-coded BBcodes be moved from being hard-coded to being pre-installed options?

There seems to be a number of requests to modify/remove these codes which currently is not possible without changing core code, but having them as options would give this added flexibility.

PM System

What I am suggesting here is both contentious and controversial and has been discussed, at length, many times in the past but I believe that now is the time for it to be revisited. In the current climate there is a possibility that the PM system of any board software, not just phpBB, can be used for...

Re: Extensionalize phpBB

There is one issue that would be problematical with the current update/upgrade procedure and that is that is that extensions that need updating would need to de disabled first and then re-enabled. Only those that have new migrations, or very special cases of changes in ext.php . Otherwise, it is no...

Re: Extensionalize phpBB

I can see the logic to some extent but I think where it falls down is that you are suggesting that these new "official" extensions are packaged with the core so that would mean that the core product would become "bloated". By using extensions then you would be increasing the number of files in the p...

Yes, but what about if an user doesn't want at all to have an avatar (especially a forced one of any sort)?
My logic tells me an user option should be introduced for this case(s).
99% of users will probably not be bothered one way or the other and for the other 1% just tell that is how it is.

Re: Avatars

To be honest it is not something that I could get excited about - unless someone was proposing removing them, which I believe is not the case. Whilst there are probably some boards that do not use/allow avatars I would guess that they are in the minority and in those cases I cannot see a "default" a...
