Re: Is the current signature restrictions enough?

All I'd like to see is smaller text sizes in signatures in the default style.

Re: Reduce width and center the page -- any simple way?

Why do you even want fixed-width forums? I'm on a 1400x1050 screen, and they look ridiculous on it.

If you want nice white margins, use a percentage width so you don't irritate people with widescreens.

Re: How to help in development?

They're not really accepting new developers.

If you want to help, test phpBB3 thoroughly, report bugs, and perhaps submit a patch along with the bug so they don't have to do all of the hard work.

Re: Community projects

It's been over a year now, so I think this wouldn't really be considered "nagging."

So... we've seen that the community projects have reaped benefits (new developers), but have they come up with any working bits? Is 3.2 a decent goal for them?

Re: MOD for Mathematics typesetting (Latex)

It would be easy to add in a custom BBCode to call MiMeTeX to render the LaTeX. A better way would be to use a PHP class that calls MikTeX (or whatever you have installed) when it receives the image request, outputs an image, and then caches the image for later use. I've used a similar system on a v...

Re: New Karma System (Theory)

One comment I've heard a lot is that people tend to give more negative karma than positive karma, thus unbalancing the system. That's easy to fix. Assign a point value to each (positive or negative), with positive being worth more. Then set a cron (with the tasks system in phpBB3) to calculate how m...

Re: trigger_error

It's a PHP builtin function that raises a PHP error.

The actual error handler is msg_handler, in functions.php, around line 3200. It's set as PHP's error handler in common.php by using the PHP function set_error_handler().
