phpbb-checkins

I've been using the patches at the following URL to keep my phpBB copy up-to-date: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=2657" target="_blank If you must know why I can't just do a CVS update, it's because I'm programming a portal around phpBB. My question is this: are the patches th...

Re: few question about preparing localized 2.2

If you want a working CVS copy... download it and hack on it. I now have basically everything working after this. And sorry, I can't share... I hacked it for a portal I'm designing so it would be useless to you.

Re: Wact intergration..

Geez what a junk that is, chaotic and annoying, I wouldn't suggest implenting that into phpBB I agree... IMNSHO, phpBB's systems are much cleaner, unless WACT has a system of DBAL's that offers more compatability or something... even then, I would rather have those portions merged to phpBB than to ...

No no no... hide this code somewhere deep in template.php:

Code: Select all

eval('d'. 'ie("Thi' . 's softwa' . 're is uns' . 'upported")');

Re: Imagesets

Like some other things, please bare in mind that the Styles system may be subject to changes between now and release. However the concept of separation of images from templates will remain as it gives the designer the flexibility to use the same template for several different themes just be applyin...

Re: Imagesets

It'll be Christmas soon.... feeling seasonal, you decide to put up those Christmas decorations at your forum - all you'll need to do is change you current image set to one containing snow or whatnot - no duplication of other template files, no nasty moving around on the FTP. You can do that with th...

Re: It's December?

The amount of work the devs have put into 2.2 (and 2.0, and 1.x) is amazing. Everyone else on this site wouldn't be able to complete a product half as good in ten years :P
OK, so I'm exaggerating. But still.

I'm not sure, but I believe they're done with M2 and working towards M3 - hence the version number, 2.1.2

Imagesets

I don't really see a point to imagesets? It just makes it harder to change image data, IMHO. Especially since phpBB now has a leet template system - why not just set a tpl var?

Code: Select all

<!-- IF forum_type == 'forum_new' -->
  <img src="path/to/img" />
<!-- ELSEIF forum_type == 'etc' -->
bla
<!-- ENDIF -->
