Re: Why was the version number removed?

Then all phpBB boards will be targeted regardless of what version they are. Security through obscurity is no security at all. Stop nitpicking. The developers didn't spend much time on this one. Seriously, it's understandable to wonder WHY they did it, but to attack them for it is very stupid and im...

Re: Who voted for George Bush?

Exactly. My point was and is that Europe over the last 700 hundred (and more) years was not all about spreading freedom, but about power and about wealth. The U.S. itself wouldn't even exist if it were not for Europeans, and the U.S. was hardly birthed in some great European experiment in freedom e...

Re: Call me crazy, but here's my portal for phpbb 2.1.2 :)

Re: phpBB 2.1.2 (2.2) is awesome

I understand how it all works, but you can release the 2.1.x CVS as a stable release, I am running it right now and have had no problems what so ever. I have ran every feature and everything works great. You are not seeing this as a part of a milestone but a stopping point for us members, with just...

Re: attachment mod and security...

social enginering ... "Hey, Mister Admin, I want to share my knowledge about php with everybody... please allow .php extension as a text format, it will enable everyone to see my work !" You'd be suprised how many people do it. Also .php is sometimes used for dymanic images (using the gd module) so...

What do 'devs' think about that ?
Anyone sane running the attachments mod has disabled .php extensions.

Re: I cannot see the Administration Panel of phpBB 2.2

When accessing the ACP link at the bottom of the forum page (only seen if logged in as an Admin), you will see a new login page with the following notice: Quote:To administer the board you must re-authenticate yourself. Just login again as an Admin needing ACP access... Viewing the 2.1.2 ACP panel ...
