Sure it is useful... you can reset a message to the status unread (but not to new) so you're remembered that there is a message that still needs your attention. You can do the same with every email programm...

And, I am a php coder, so I may even be able to fix up a few bugs You shouldn't do that... no need for it as the developers will do this and even if you do it your solutions will porbably not used by the developers... so just do it to get a look on the new phpBB and/or look what you will do later w...

actually i disagree with this ... we develop... Actually that was not my point... no matter what you develop or produce... the customer always says if he likes it or not and therefore has the decision to buy/use the product or not... However, all developers may do how they want. It wasn't my intent...

Oh, we are listening to the users. How do you think it was decided which feature is going to be in phpBB 3.0? Just by rolling dice? Until Acid's post I wasn't really questioning that you do - and yes I know the feature tracker - but in his actual post it sounded somehow "we make our own decissions"...
