Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

grap the latest CVS (from phpbb3) and read the INSTALL.htm file. In that file you can find a step by step instruction how to convert a phpbb2 to a phpbb3 board

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

oke I've managed to build a simple demo. You can find the files in the .rar file along with 2 images. Read the install.txt before using and use is on own risk.

Hope i am allowed to share this here, otherwise i'll see it removed by one of the mods

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

Only on step is taking a lot of time, the inserting of the posts. I think you know in advance how many inserts you have to do. I know many people thi...

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

if you want less memory consumed you can lower both values, for example a batch size of 2000 and num_wait_rows to 10. Maybe this could also me mentioned somewhere, or be an option to choose. My guess is.. that a lot of user are going to be confronted with out of memory errors.. (I haven't tested it...
