Stupid question about phpbb2.2's nested-set model.

I was under the impression that if updates were made properly that no matter how much the rows in your table changed you would always get the results you wanted with one query using a nested-set model or aka Modified Preorder Tree Traversal. I,e any query specifying the values between a node's left ...

Question about including a template file more than once

If I try to include a template file within a template in more than once place it only processes it in the first instance. Is this intentional, a bug or something overlooked? Example: template1.html wants to include template2.html at the beginning and the end since it's the same code used in both pla...

Looks nice!!

You are far ahead of me with the knowledge base and news archives and admin panel. The only thing I have that you don't are the latest downloads and poll block but those are easy ones to code.

Re: Call me crazy, but here's my portal for phpbb 2.1.2 :)

Also, i'd recommend that you investigate into the subforums of phpBB2.2 - i dont know how your news works, but, for example, with my portal, each subforum in the news forum becomes a sub category (and the image of the forum is the image of the category too) - and can create a very powerful forum. J...

Re: What milestone are we on?

What kind of installation problems are you having? I've tried 3-4 different CVS versions and have never had a problem installing it.

Re: Call me crazy, but here's my portal for phpbb 2.1.2 :)

That's actually kinda cool! Did you change your forum colors to that purple shade? Or is that a development thing for the time being? I replaced the th background gif with the shaded purple one which the forum also uses since it shares the same stylesheet information. I now have an RSS news module ...

Re: Just a suggestion.

/shrug I've always liked the subSilver look. The only thing I didn't like about the default look when I first used 2.0.x was the 2px border which is easily changed in the stylesheet .forumline class.

Call me crazy, but here's my portal for phpbb 2.1.2 :)

Currently in progress at www.kuato.org/mutant It's been a great learning experience and I hope to have a version for download soon. Just need to test more and fine tune some things. I know it's kind of silly working on a portal using 2.1.2 CVS code which can change from one day to the next but I tho...

Re: The 2.2 styling system ... feedback

This is already doable with assign_var_from_handle() method of the phpBB 2.0 template class, using a template var (IMHO it gaves also the tpl source a little more readability than those includes statements, but it is not a big deal). That's true but the problem is that the template class in 2.2 no ...

Re: PHPbb team : you have to catch up with the compition

I agree with modenaf1, take your time and do it right. In the meantime 2.0.6 is plenty enough for most of our needs and there are plenty of mods out for it.
