A tool for what? To stop there from being two topics instead of one? I don't see any benefit to merging 2 topics. In my opinion, it actually kills discussions rather then helps them.

Re: Merged: Wow, New Reply Review is a Cool Feature

I hate topic merging. It completely messes up the topic. There should be 3 markings: topic one, topic 2, and new replies after the merge.

Re: CashMod

phpBB's strength is in it's simplicity yet flexability. I would rather have a simple forum that is easily moddable then a complex one where I don't need half the features and it is a burden to make changes. The burden is making changes to a modded Forum. Have you ever updated a Board that contains ...

Re: Supports 4.3.2 fine

Just because it works on 4.3.2 now does not mean it will work on 3.0.1 or 3.0.2. By having the minumum supported pre-determined they won't have to deal with people later complaining they had to up the minimum requirements. Boxing yourself in with legacy support should be avoided whenever possible.

Re: CashMod

it was given as a community coding project and we've not heard a peep since. could be progressing very well, or stuck in neutral. The karma system was dropped from development. Mainly because they couldn't figure out a good way to get it to work. They posted about this a while ago. Most karma syste...

Merged: Wow, New Reply Review is a Cool Feature

I had no idea olympus had this. Apparently if you write up a reply and hit submit, it checks if more replies were added to the topic since you began writing. It then displays all the new replies so you can adjust your message if nesessary. That was quite unexpected in a pleasent sort of way. Anyway,...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo =

You might not always remember which forum you started a global announcement in. I would be quite *beep* off if I made up an announcement and then accidently deleted it with the forum I had it in. So I think it should stay unattached to all forums. It is easy enough to delete it if it is no longer ne...

Nonetheless, that is actually a good idea for people who understand how it would be used. Thanks for posting it.
