Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

Well, normal people tend to think something like that if you don't give them any other reason to imagine something different. You said that a feature of the demo is not a good idea, knowing that it's not easy to fix that for such a kind of demo. The fact you gave no suggestions made me think that y...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

@Techie: I told you that yours sounds like a good suggestion. I was a just bit annoyed by the fact that you gave no suggestions at first, but when I guessed you were suggesting to shut it down you kept saying that I was missing the point. I also agree that e-mails should not be disclosed, but this ...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

IP addresses are not private. Every server you access records your IP address. Anyone can start a web site and record them. IP addresses belong to the ISP, anyway. Yeah but most websites don't publicly post IP address of visitors. So what? This isn't "most web sites" The purpose here is for someone...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

Tor is really slow, I would be suprised to hear that somebody uses it for his/her normal browsing. I think it's more intended to cover your a** when you browse some kind of sites... When did I ever suggest what people should and should not be using proxies for? but not everybody knows how. People w...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

Ok, so the point is that some people don't like disclosing it. My point is that people should not really worry about that, since it's quite easy to obtain anyway, but this is just my idea, and nothing more. People shouldn't worry about it? So that's why Tor exists from the EFF, a group that is ther...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

So what's the point then? You were meaning that everybody can have the list of all IP's used by the other accounts, weren't you? (which IMO is not a problem) Some people do not appreciate just anybody being able to view their IP address. Yes, your IP address gets logged when you visit a webserver. ...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

IMO, IP addresses are not a problem. If I put a link into this post, and you click on it, I log your IP on my site. It's that easy. http://www.curezone.com/upload/Art/Animation/missingthepoint.png ;) E-mails are, I hope that there is no validation and that everybody signs in with a fake account. It...

Re: = Live Admin Panel Demo = [3.0.4]

Has this anything to do with the board not being up to date? No, it's just that everyone who signs up gets an admin account (well, that is the general idea) and there's nothing stopping anyone from going around and deleting everything. Are you sure that's a good idea? Email addresses, IP ad...

Re: [Discussion] Downtime and Server Compromise

Those who have not logged in since the conversion to phpBB3 will still have their passwords in the plain MD5 format.
