Re: [RFC] Javascript Preview

I didn't see progress in the WYSIWYG editor for over 3 months,
this wouldn't take long to develop. It would act exactly the same (without AJAX) if javascript is implemented correctly.

Re: [RFC] Update password hashing algorithm

Not all boards support password recovery.

Whats the point to upgrade phpBB hashing tables, it's good enough for now.
Why would anyone want to break into a phpBB forum DATABASE for passwords?

[RFC] Javascript Preview

Hello to all, I suggest to add to phpBB a Javascript enabled preview, Instead of submitting the form to the server, just parse the bbcode with javascript and show the preview without waiting for the page to reload. This will save both server load and time of the client. At the same time, check conte...

Searching with GET

When searching something on a phpBB forum, you are currently sending a POST request. Why not search with a GET request with the query in the url (ex. http://example.com/phpbb/search.php?q=hello%20world) - just like any search engine. This way you will be able to make it easier for people to change t...

CSS Sprites Generator

In phpBB, all the styles use images that are small enough to put into CSS Sprites. I think it would be a good idea to add a feature for styling that would take all of the small images and generate two files: 1. a png or gif file that would contain all small images. 2. a css file that would create CS...

Re: WYSIWYG editor

The WYSIWYG editor that convinced me the most so far was CKEditor. There have been discussions about integration a while ago. From what I can tell CKEditor is pluggable. i think CKEditor is a bit heavy for phpBB. (...) Hi, I'm from the CKEditor team and just wanted to add 0.02$ and say that I do no...

So, do you propose sending just 'text' in the above example?
Maybe copy the link beside the text enclosed like this:
text <link-url>

{b}
{b} <{a}>

Re: Forums depending on users language

If you set your language to English on a "multilingual" forum (example: English (LTR) and Arabic (RTL)), each time you move from place to place you'll have to change your settings... (if working with one board..) No Drop-downs required. Board Language is determined by the current forum's language at...

Re: Forums depending on users language

The languages in the UCP will only affect the UCP and forums with undefined languages. If most users speak all three languages, why do you need to change the languages? Most users speak between 2 or 3 languages... not all of them!! All Forums will have a language attribute. Now, if you are a guest o...

Re: Forums depending on users language

I'm not sure I like this... more complex really than it's worth. If you want different forums based on different languages, why not make different boards? The idea is to display all forums on the index page, sorted by language (or whatever the board admin chooses). When a user selects a forum, the ...
