Re: The new phpBB version - Guess the Release Date Competition
So, did anybody ever actually win anything, or was the prize-giving as farcical as the rest of the competition?

Re: The new phpBB version - Guess the Release Date Competition
More than three years after this thread was started, phpBB 3 is still not released. We're now only three months from the latest date it is possible to enter into http://www.neothermic.com/phpbb_pool/entry.php - so if there's not a final release in the next three months, the entire contest will have ...

Re: The new phpBB version - Guess the Release Date Competit
On the 1st Jan 2006, a 2006 entry will be opened. What, no "If the release date isn't this year, ..."? ;) So, the contest is coming up on being scrapped for a second time, and started again. I suggest adding the ability to choose dates for the next five years running, next time around. ;)

Re: phpBB3 development
Check his post history; he threw in a little farewell hissy fit here too... And sorry, but that stat is perfectly enlightening. It shows that there are overall quite a few more people posting through vbulletin forums than there are people posting through phpBB forums, but phpBB exploits get talked a...

Re: phpBB3 development
I only want to know one more thing (and if I can't get an answer, than so be it): why did Paul quit? This was written without meaning offense to anyone, it was meant to be purely inqusitive. Read his blog here: http://www.starstreak.net/blog/2005/09/14/im-free/" target="_blank The blog is...

Re: phpBB3 development
I only want to know one more thing (and if I can't get an answer, than so be it): why did Paul quit? He's already said. Look at his most recent post on these forums: "I'm bored silly now with the community mentality ... I gave months, heck 2+ years of my life to keep this project going ... for...

Re: The new phpBB version - Guess the Release Date Competit
Time to unsubscribe from this thread. I got fed up of waiting, and dealing with the recent barrage of security exploits / patches, so I am no longer using phpBB on my site. I won't mention what I am using, because I don't think it is appropriate to use these forums as an advertisement for a competin...

Re: phpBB 2.2 - Guess the Release Date Competition
Well, since you only allow dates this year, I can't guess. I was going to guess March 18th, 2005, though. ;) and who knew, way back when (September 04), even *I* was being overoptimistic. ;) I no longer think it is going to come out in another 5 days; I'm now thinking sometime around July, maybe ev...

Re: Roadmap of betas
It's hard to predict the actual number of betas since the developers will be working from community feedback and bug reports. That said, I think the developers are thinking in terms of a need for less than five betas. Actually, psoTFX has stated exactly how many betas he's shooting for at phpBB.com...
