Re: Calendar ?

Calendars have uses, but I've yet to see a forum that actually uses calendars for a great reason. Most of them go so far as listing birthdays of members, which is really useless information. For the few communities that organize meeting times on forums (role playing, development chats, and so on...)...

Re: 2.2 release

I'm guessing the last two milestones take a bit longer than the first two. Group CP and private messaging are very robust systems, especially with all the planned features.

There's a lot of work to do yet. :)

Re: Feature Requests When PhpBB's Tracker on SourceForge is

It is closed for now because other board software seemed to have been taking many of the ideas posted there, or users were requesting those same features to other board software developers.

IIRC, it will open back up in good time, feature requests can be posted then.

Re: You need more faces for the powst icons. How about...

Oh, James, about the post icons. I'm sure the phpBB team will allow you to add/remove those at your own will. You really shouldn't worry about this kind of stuff yet, it's chump change compared to what they still have to do. (Grouping system, PM system, Search functions...)

Re: WYSIWYG message board?

I think the newer vBulletin versions support WYSIWYG posting messages.

For example, you highlight text, and click on the "Bold" button, it will make it bold in the input box where you're typing everything, instead of surrounding it with

Code: Select all

At least thats what I make of it. :)

Re: Feature Requests/Bug Reports/Support Requests solution

I've gathered that the only things accepted here are ideas of alternate ways for coding phpBB, suggestions on different database designs, et cetera, that improve performance of the overall script. Those are about the only things I haven't seen shot down aside from encouragement and all that hum-jum...

Ehm. Some CVS snapshots install without quirks... you should try them until you find one, if this is what your problem is.
