Re: Translations -- use GNU GetText please
symfony already use gettext :) I'm not sure what symfony1 does, but Symfony2 does not use gettext. It has a custom parser for the XLIFF format. There are however tools to convert between PO and xliff . One of the things I don't like about these is that you no longer have a 'language key' for transl...

Re: Improvements for translations
You're also welcome to suggest improvements. Translators are certainly the most likely to know what could be improved :) Just did that in the other tread. I've been struggeling with a MOD over the weekend, failed, and cannot find my mistake. I wont give up, but seperating code and text would benefi...

Re: Translations -- use GNU GetText please
+1 for this proposal!!! As a MOD translator (ea. Anti-SPAM ACP, Download MOD [from phpBB2.x onward from time to time]) I find that phpBB is a hard to translate, not because of language ofcourse. I would really go for plugins. It descibes best what it is. It plugs into your software, to enable new features. MOD reminds on the hacks of the past, we should leave those behind. Bundles confuses me. And to no programmers it does not tell what it does... Does this bundle functions, theme's, widget...

Need for plugin and theme architecture....
After running phpBB for over 4 years I just wanted to put it out there. I love phpBB for the great community, wonderful features, great development that has been going on for the last couple of years now.... In installing MODs over the years I have yelled at the codebase (doesnot help, but it made m...
