Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

Converted Prosilver for 3.2.5 to Iconify: https://github.com/cyberalien/prosilver-iconify All FontAwesome stuff has been converted. Most icons have been replaced with similar FontAwesome 5 icons because they are much better designed, some were replaced with icons from different sets. Forum/topic ico...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

Yes. Also when icon is removed, like for example today Dashicons renamed plus-light to plus-alt2 , old icon is still available. Update process doesn't simply pull latest icons, it merges new icon set with previous icons set. If icon is removed, it is marked as hidden. If icon is renamed, old name is...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

@Poke Had a few more follow-up questions for sustainability. what is the turn around timeline/process for updating a library? Lets say mdi gets really active and starts pushing out icon updates once a month or more? What is the update process? How automated is it? does it require someone creating a...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

There is no error. When you are using node terminal thingie, it logs result of code you've typed. For example if you type c = 2+2 it will log "4". Its like echo(eval('code'))

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

** poke ** Sorry to bother you but's related to this argument somehow, I am following your suggestion (posted somewhere) to use a GUI like this https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg/ .. since we have hundreds of SVGs to clean up a bit (more than what I already did with a Windows' tool like SVG cle...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

Yes, its included dynamically and no, you don't need to write anything like $(.iconify). Script parses icons on page load and watches DOM for mutations, so it works with dynamically generated content such as AJAX stuff phpBB uses. It does not have any dependencies (except for couple of polyfills for...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

Thanks. I've been working a lot on it. Also released React component and plug-in for Sketch :) Its possible to load icons like that: https://api.iconify.design/fa-home.svg However I suggest not to to do it. There are several issues with loading external SVG (this applies to any external SVG, not jus...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

Is it cacheable? Though if I have a page with 100 + icons that has to go through this every load I’m wondering the cost? Sorry, didn't check area51 for a while. Project has been re-written recently (again), this time its final version and already stable release candidate is available :) Also rename...

Re: ICONS - How to handle SVG explained

SVG framework has been improved a lot in last few months.

Check it out: https://simplesvg.com/ :)
Website has icon finder to browse all available icons and documentation, though documentation section is not complete yet.

Many bugs have been fixed, many improvements to code.

Re: Support for Emojis

If anyone still considers making extension for emojis, EmojiOne is no longer a good choice. It has gone evil. No more free emojis from Emoji One. EmojiOne version 3.0 changed license. Now the only thing you get for free are PNG images. PNG images are bigger than vector images and don't scale, making...
