Hi all, Not quite sure why this problems here - I havn't altered the themes on my forum, only the image sets. Thank you - yes, it looks like the one! Is there a list/guide of what templates control which areas of the board?
Would be quite handy for self-mods, rather than trawling through templates to find the one that matches.

Thanks for all your help guys. Resaved the two language files in the correct format with Notepad++ and capthca is now working. Looks like it was common.php that caused the error.

OK, I'll try that thanks. Yes notepad was used, but the encoding was kept to UTF-8 as far as I'm aware, I'll recheck and advise. Thanks Notepad does not have a "UTF-8 without BOM" option. If you selected "UTF8", then it DID add a BOM . Ah right, can you advise of a program that ...

edit: Each time the files were saved, UTF-8 encoding was chosen from within Notepad. Can this still cause the said damage to occur?

Said folders are set to 777. but still got the cross where the image should be.
