[RFC] API for Plugins (MODs)

As we are starting from a blank canvas, I think we should work towards have a system where the core code (shipped with phpBB) remains intact. What this means is instead of modifying phpBB files, we should allow the modders access to a set of functions that do the same job. For example, borrowing fro...

Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

I still don't see what is a the fuss about a 'planned feature list'. How hard is it to maintain a list of features for 3.2? Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

if i had to guess i would say that the team do not expose their roadmap not because they are secretive, but because they don't really have one. IMO that is a really harsh comment. Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

Here are the 2 most needed features in my opinion: 1. Sphinx search integration..i hugely dislike the current search. 2. Some sort of "Mod Manager" built into the ACP. All mods validated my phpBB.com will show up in the mods manager and any new version submitted to phpBB.com will also sho...

Re: Better Documentation for the Code

Just my 2 cents: I think a documentation wiki should be set up at phpBB.com so that any of the Team Members can update/add to the documentation at ease. This way all the work will be divided and any one from the team can work on it :)

This forum's description clearly says (emphasis added by me): All style (template, theme and imageset) related questions for the new release; advice, feedback here please. The route to troubleshooting starts by looking at the right place. Let me help you with the first step. Try posting it actually ...

Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

What I would like is a options where admins can force ppl to search the forums first before starting a new topic or perhaps even posting something. The user would enter there message, when they post they get the search result and can choice to post it in one of those topics instead. Thats pretty mu...

I second that EXreaction, and with the Feature requests open for 3.2 I think you should go for it :D
