I think and hope that the devs will not realase phpBB3 as soon as they think it's ready to work in live enviroment. I prefer them to clean all the bugs first and make sure that there will be no need for 3.0.1 in 2 weeks.

I am preety sure that you haven't seen the full abilities of new phpBB. Wait and you will see. THat thing surely beats SMF. and many other boards (I am an IPB owner, lame ba***** but could not wait for phpBB3). I think the final realase will manage to compete Vb and IPB. Waitting for the new templat...
