I'm sure they're using their extended Christmas break (from their 'proper jobs') to finish off the next release before New Year...... please! ;)

Mmmm...let's hope the devs don't have that attitude. Otherwise the message would be (Don't use phpBB if any of your users are likely to use Outlook)

Re: phpbb 2.2?

So to have estimated a 2004 release year was OK and perfectly acceptable and legitimate IMO (and noted in admiration for the development team). Totally agree. If I could make one teeny criticism of the team here ( 8O ) it's that they shouldn't be so afraid of setting but then missing target dates. ...

Gentle Giant? Looking forward to this. :) # Yes, the same. Can't change my username on this board :( For some reason my post on the main BB has been locked. If Karma isn't going to be in 2.2, surely it's reasonable to start finding out what people's requirements are for any Mod? If so, where would ...

Re: It's back! It's back!

I plan to develop a version of my Rating system Mod for 2.2 (when it's released). This might meet the requirements of some of you who are looking for Karma functionality If you're interested, I'd welcome your comments in the following thread: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=201448" t...

Re: append_sid deprecation question

I thought there would be two (admittedly minor) advantages to my method:

- You don't add unnecessary chars to the URL when the user has a cookie
- You can put URLs directly into templates and have any SID value added, without having to edit the .php file

Maybe I've misunderstood :?

Re: append_sid deprecation question

Oh right, thanks. I'm glad we won't see the long session ID in every url IF the user has cookies. The way I've done this on my current phpBB is to generate two template variables, {AMP_SID} and {QUE_SID} which give &sid=XXX and ?sid=XXX respectively (unless there's a cookie in which case both va...

Re: append_sid deprecation question

So how does it work exactly? Every URL is gonna have ?sid= after it. If the user doesn't have a cookie, then the session ID appears after that. Any other query string parameters get added afterwards? And will you be able to put links in posts and have the sid automatically embedded? e.g. I post a li...
