Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

I think that the future there should be better support for inter-product integration. (I think you can see my pet-hate with the state of current web-applications). A way of installing Wordpress, Joomla!, MediaWiki & phpBB all on the same site, with the ability to have the same user, preferences, pe...

Re: phpBB 3.2 Discussion

I have just read though the entire topic.. Personally I would love to see a revitalisation of the Community Coding Projects .. It has been 2.5 years since they were announced and as far as I am aware, apart from gaining 2 developers, no substantial code has been contributed from this.. There has bee...

Re: Why do we use js-hover-effects in User Control Panel Navigat

Isn't it there because some browsers don't recognise :hover? It doesn't work when I disable JS. I guess some browsers are less serious about disabling JS than Opera. Yes, IE6 doesn't have support for :hover attributes, (Or any :... attribute actually), I believe that IE7 does either.. This is why J...

Re: good guide to php?

I personally have the PHP Cookbook from O'Reilly , its handy, but as ever with O'Reilly, a little over technical for the beginners.. Again as has been said twice now.. The manual is superbly written, although not quite all encompassing (when you get more advanced you will get to know what I mean), i...

Re: Consensus on Attachment Extensions..

When I looked through the current default list of extensions in CVS and Yawnster's list I couldn't find the MIDI extension (*.mid). I think this could easily be added without any security issues. It would be nice for many musician boards to share (not finished) song ideas without uploading huge WAV...

Re: SVG as forum images ...

Trust me when i say that its not just you that wants the web to change, but due to the nature of web progress, SVG wont mature for quite a while, espically as IE6 is still going to be around for years to come.. Although it would be great to have the images in SVG format, I feel that v4 (or v3.2 for ...

Re: can it be done?

Why not use the CVS version? Seriously.. its not that hard.. just have to grab a copy, and install it..

If you want to do testing on large postings or large user forum situations, try taking a look in the /develop folder :) Theres a few useful files in there..

Re: Managing Users

May I ask how else are you going to find single users? The only other option would be a list, but if your forum has 2 million members then your a little screwed there :P

Re: Consensus on Attachment Extensions..

I think you guys are getting mixed up with my personal views over Miek's and the projects in general.. I believe personally that there should be a number of attachments that are at least limited to responisble users, (PHP, PL, PY etc..), I feel that this would be better for all parties involved.. Ho...
