Re: Smilies...
Sorry, I misread what you were saying. Though you must admit text makes it a little difficult to convey feelings and deeper meanings in messages You should be able to do it with text if you can truly write. ...And if the reader can "truly read". Well, the smilies are for those who can't w...

Re: What features will be compromised by 'safe mode' ?
If phpBB uses set_execution_time() to change the maximum execution time of a script, that won't work. (I doubt it though.) If you're allowing uploads (whether attachments or avatars, or maybe smilie packs or something) make sure that the phpBB directory has the same owner throughout. That is, your s...

Re: New styles
I couldn't find any other topic in which this was covered so I placed it here. Re: Permissions Nightmare!
I'm not certain about this, but I think what you do at the moment is create the top forum, create the forums under it, and then set permissions for the top forum. You can then specify which forums which are under it should inherit those permissions.

Re: Permissions Nightmare!
OK. No forcing. No disabling. Just the -> marks (or an indent) as a hint that you might be able to skip all of them in one go.
Please?

Re: Permissions Nightmare!
It's very simple. If an item is set to NO or it is UNSET but is practically NO then every subitem (indicated by ->) is not relevant.

Re: Let's list the main new stuff in 2.2
They are unlikely to delete anything. The karma was already scrapped (I think) and there's nothing else with major problems. The list is useful for people who want to know what there is but can't be bothered to get and set up a snapshot. Obviously I will try to keep this updated as new things happen...

Re: Permissions Nightmare!
Could you at least add a final column showing the forum default? That way people will know for certain what "UNSET" actually means.

Re: Permissions Nightmare!
-> Using quote -> With attachments -> With HTML -> With BBCode -> With images -> With Flash -> With smilies -> With signatures -> With post icons -> Ignoring flood limit -> Post count is incremented This at least is a clear group. Maybe this could be clearly marked off at the bottom of the permissi...
