Anyway placing the attachments in different directories for each forum (attachments/forum_1 etc.) would probably make sence and solve the problem addressed in this topic.

In my understanding you AREN'T anonymous, even if you post without an account. Your IP is saved with every post you make.
The username is not relevant, anyway, I think, because you can't draw conclusions on the 'real' person from it. With the IP, you can.
