Re: The Quake 4 syndrome.

... they provide no deadline to avoid deception because it's hard to fullfil both a dealine requirement and a feature list requirement but, in the end time passes and nothing comes and people thinks about switching to a different software which isn't a lesser deception ... Re: Anyone got a cvs up and running?

I can't, because I can't log in into the admin panel. If I try, it redirects me back to the "login again" page... Log in as user works, however.

Re: Why don't release this "fairly stable" phpBB 2

Anyway, this forum is (at least halfways) usable, in contrast to the bug-laden CVS snapshots which I sometimes cannot even install... so I don't get it why this forum's source is kept secret.

Re: http://www.phpbbforfree.com/

That's phpBB hosting made by some 3rd party for those newbs who can't set up a forum... It's nothing new, since rapidforum.com and other pages offer the same kind of "service": ad-bloated "quickstart" forums for newbies.

Why don't release this "fairly stable" phpBB 2.1?

Because this page is using a "fairly stable" version of phpBB 2.1 (at least more stable than those snapshots), I wonder why it is not released for public testing, but only a buggy CVS snapshot of it?
