Re: What are you plans for upgrading/testing?

If I don't create a new folder and db on my host, I'll just install PHP, mySQL, etc. on my local machine. Export and import the 2.0.x files and db. Then I will upgrade it to 2.2. I will make the changes to the files and save them so I have it looking how I want it to look. Once I'm happy, I'll updat...

Database flags

Is there or will there be some way for the flags that show if a topic is read or unread to be limited to x amount of posts? Say a user doesn't visit for a year, that's a lot of post ids stored in the database on a large forum. If it were limited to maybe 300 or last month, that might be more realist...

Re: I don't like some of the things.

At least the performance (my main concern) won't be harmed too much. Though, how can one know when they have EVERYTHING "uninstalled" that isn't needed? :) Oh yeah, permissions in the new ACP took me literally 5 mins to setup a subforum (aka, way too long and I'm not a 2.0.x n00b). ;-) EDIT: I don't...

Re: I don't like some of the things.

What is the visual confirmation mod then? Many things are requested; doesn't mean they're needed. As it's been said many times over at phpbb.com, a lot of things people want are just bloat so that is why mods are made. It's just bloated extra code that is not needed if one turns it off in the admin ...

I don't like some of the things.

I like the idea from 2.0.x how we would keep it simple. It seems things like birthday, jabber and related things are uneeded. If someone wants them, why can't they just be mods or even official mods? Like the visual confirmation thing, include some extras somewhere in the installation files. Thanks.

Db or cookie tracking?

What is better for the user?
What is better for the server (faster)?

If I'm logged in one two computers, and have the cookie one enabled, would different topics show up, etc. because I'm on two diff. computers therefore two different cookies (one on one and one on the other)?

Thanks. :)

Re: Spell check

I looked around, where is the feature request thing? I've used a spell check feature before on other forums, one being custom made forum software and I had over 14000 posts on their forums. It actually made me a better speller. Makes things look professional too if the words are spelled right. :) If...
