The winner hasn't yet got back to me yet. I won't announce the winner until they not only get back to me but also indicate that they don't mind it be known that they won :)

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!

[*] no way to release a default set of questions/answer If you used the image approach the only question would be “What do you see in the image”? You could then set up the phpbb logo as the default. Or you could use captcha as a default and offer Image and response as an option. Under the considera...

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!

I'm curious about the effort being put into the captcha in the face of the discussions in this topic asserting that the configurable question and answer approach is possibly a better (and certainly simpler) solution. Really? Thing is, question and answer approaches have these major problems: no way...

Re: The speed increase is astounding

I could try and make one >> What exactally was the change? Uhh, a total rewrite? phpBB 2.0 and phpBB 3 do not share any code * . It would be difficult to mod 2.0 to be as fast as 3.0 without bordering on a total rewrite of 2.0, which would defeat the point :) NeoThermic * Ok, they do, but I'm refer...

[...]it almost seems like everything is so planned and thought out carefully, like there is a day to day agenda. Re: The speed increase is astounding

Without official knowledge, I don't think this is the case, as I have seen phpBB.com go offline nearly half a dozen times in the last 7 or 8 months alone... while area51 was online... and it had nothing to do with the Apache Server. I would venture to guess they are on at least separate partitions,...
