Might make an interesting set of web server benchmarks - the LinPack RQQ (Ridiculous Quantity of Queries) test suite. 8)

Re: Can I download the 2.2 source??????

Lovely thing about PHP scripts - generally speaking, if you have the download, you have full access to the source. To download, head on over to Area51 and follow the links to the snapshots - there you can get a copy of the latest greatest (and occasionally broken) phpBB 2.1/2.2 code.

Re: convert two phpbb2.0 to one phpbb2.2

If you want to muck around with the database, which is what will probably be required (I don't trust hacky scripts unless I write em ) then try phpMyAdmin , a great tool for MySQL administration. The GUI makes it a lot easier to play with the data and schema, which is somewhat of a pain thr...

Re: Use phpBB2

While you won't find this forum particularly helpful, (as if the NO SUPPORT sigs didn't make this clear enough) you might make sure that the _file permissions are set right (chmod -R if you do the whole folder) and make sure that your setup is as plain as possible - turn on php verbose output, see i...

Re: Call me crazy, but here's my portal for phpbb 2.1.2 :)

I like, I like - I've done some simple tie-ins between phpBB and other portal systems, but this is _very_ well visually integrated - far more than any of the stuff I've done. (Especially in Flash - uuuuggghh) I'd love to see where you take this - it looks great, and you've got a nice big version jum...

Re: Googlebot user?

I don't know if it's practical or not for a project of this scale, but using path info in lieu of GET usually is more palatable to crawlers like google. For example, my PHP-driven blog used to identify rants with an URL like /rants.php?id=47. I used the explode() function to split REQUEST_URI into b...

Re: All design kept in CSS

Plus, a <div>-based layout isn't nearly as backward-compatible as a table-based one. I am currently building a <div> site, and most of the CSS that the design really requires breaks on anything less than bleeding-edge. And if you ever run Lynx or another text-based browser, a table-based layout will...

New Theme in Safari

The new theme looks really awesome - except that it looks a little odd in Safari, my browser of choice. When I'm reading through a topic and the height of the content in the main box is shorter than that of the user info column on the left, the main content box is shortened (instead of autostretchin...
