Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
Ok The idea I'm presenting here is not really a problem of notifications, its a more natural PMs presentation, and an easy way to manage them because they would be exactly as topics are now :) The read / unread would be the same too, we only need the info that we didn't read the last message of this...

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
Hi
It's been a year now and I thought about something:
should this idea be written in wiki, in RFC section or somewhere ?
It would be more visible and maybe motivate some developper

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
Yes I meant topics
I think it would be disturbing for the user not to follow this setting in PMs don't you ? It may not be necessary to add another option, but to follow this one the same way would be better imho

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
It would be more logical to get all conversations in the same order, the public ones and the private ones, first post on top, last post at bottom (unless there is an option to reverse that ?) First unread post when clicked on the same link as today (I dont know if there is plans to change the index ...

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
You will have a notification icon for your unread PMs as you actually have one for all unread topics, you only have to read the last messages (with the shortcut to the first unread) to be up-to-date of the current conversation, does that fulfill your need ? An option in UCP would be great, but is th...

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
You're right, I forgot the case of multiple recipients. Actually, in the forums I use we don't really need to see if the message is read or not, but if needed we could use the number of reads, as in normal topics we have number of replies and number of reads. In Private messages this number is more ...

Re: New way of presenting Private Messages
In my suggestion, while the messages are displayed in one conversation the outbox and sent were no more necessary If the unread/read information is important for someone I think we could get this information as it's done today and display it with an check icon in the message sent, in conversation vi...
