Re: phpBB 3.0?
well that's odd, this topic keeps coming up (by different people) so for something that people don't want, it sure is a hot point of contention. Probably because its a few unhappy people stamping their feet because its not going to be included in the next release. Thankfully......... :D Nah, the on...

Re: phpBB 3.0?
You do realize something as simple as QR won't really be tallied very well within mod downloads. Why? cause it's so simple, your moders would do it themselves. The only mods I download are complex ones. Quick replies can be done, as you said, in five minutes. The only proper way to gage features is ...

Re: phpBB 3.0?
The people who want quick reply probibally spend more time here writing a post of complaint than the time it would take to add quick reply. I think that kind of puts it in perspective a bit, doesn't it? hehe, nope. Not really. ;) I use quick reply probably 90% of the time on the forums which contai...

Re: phpBB3 Crosses 80,000 Lines of Code
More and more lines of code isn't always a good thing. It tends to lead to bloat.

Re: phpBB 3.0?
To answer this finally - quick reply will not be in 3.0, we do not want to add such a feature to the software and I don't think that it's actually not something that a lot of people want, just something that the minority who do want it are quite vocal about I beg to differ, but that's my opinion. W...

Re: Quote threshold limit?
When quoting guice's post, you recieve an error... "You may embed only 3 quotes within each other." sweet. Another question; is there a way within phpBB to auto remove quotes starting internally? It's nice you get an error, but that's not a very userfriendly approach. A good approach woul...

Re: Why does phpBB use a posting confirmation page?
I've got rid of the posting confirmation page completely on my phpBB 2.0.19 board, when you post it takes you straight back to the thread you posted on, works far better with tabbed browsers.....did it a while back and can't remember exactly how though I'm sure I could trudge through and jog my mem...

Re: Quote threshold limit?
In 2.1.x the nested quotes limit is configurable from ACP. IN 2.0.x there was a limit, but it wasn't configurable from ACP. there is no quote nesting limit in 2.0.x . there might be a mod, but other than that, there is none. There is a 30-quote limit in 2.0.x. Ha, pretty much the same thing as none...

Quote threshold limit?
Is there going to be a quoting threshold limit? I like how some boards will not requote quoted text when you quote somebody's reply containing a quote from a previous post... Now, if I hadn't lost ya already; phpBB will requote text to the point of oblivion. Have you seen a post that contains 5 leve...

Re: Why does phpBB use a posting confirmation page?
Ah, okay. I just wasn't sure what you were referring to. Couldn't you simply make the confirmation page set the cookie/mark the DB and then do a redirect right away? That's what I currently do on one of my forums, but when the server's acting a bit flaky, that extra page load could easily mean anot...
